Our North Star is progressive values,
and that's what guides us.

The North Star Progressive Democrats are united by our shared values: equity, inclusion, solidarity, and justice. Our North Star remains constant, guiding us everyday to be better individuals on a mission to make the future better for all.

The North Star once guided escaped slaves to freedom. Our figurative North Star guides us towards our values and our future. Within the Democratic Party, our North Star reminds us that winning elections isn’t an end, but a means to improve our communities, state, and country.

Who We Are

The North Star Progressive Democrats are a slate of grassroots activists and community leaders with records of effectively standing up for the working class, under-represented voices, good government, housing affordability, better wages, quality education, and the environment.

We love our communities and our neighbors and we will fight for our values and for people.

Our Priorities and Vision
for the California Democratic Party

The Democratic Party must evaluate our leaders and candidates by their work, and we must hold them accountable when they fail to fight for us, our values, and our platform. When we update our party platform, we should make sure any changes align with our values. The North Star Progressive Democrats share a vision of a Democratic Party in Silicon Valley and California which fights tirelessly for these urgent priorities:

  • Justice and Equity: Racial equity, criminal justice reform, police reform, economic equity, gender equity, LGBTQ equity.

  • Human Rights: Abundant, affordable and high-quality housing (for owners, renters, and people experiencing homelessness); healthcare; education; and childcare

  • Democracy, Inclusion, Representation, and Empowerment: In government, within the Democratic Party, and in our workplaces.

  • Climate Emergency: Immediate and bold action on climate change, environmental justice, and protection of open space. We support the Green New Deal.

Assembly District Delegate elections allows vote by mail and in-person voting this year. Democrats residing in the 23rd Assembly District can vote for us. Wherever you live, we hope you'll vote for up to 14 candidates to become elected delegates to the California Democratic Party.
