Candidate Statement

Hello, my name is Alex Nunez and I am honored to be a North Star Progressive Democrat candidate for elected delegate to the California Democratic Party.

As a current Planning Commissioner for the City of Mountain View, former CA Democratic Party Elected Delegate, and former Political Director for the Peninsula Young Democrats, I have spent many years working to advance progressive policies and candidates through leadership roles in successful campaigns at the local, state, and national levels.

These leadership efforts have contributed to successful campaigns for renter protections and business tax reform in Mountain View that are having a meaningful impact towards achieving more equity in our communities. This experience makes me even more committed to continuing this work across our state.

If elected as your delegate, I will use my voice and my vote to support candidates and policies that align with these values and experiences. I will work to ensure the California Democratic supports solutions that not only protect our environment, but also create economic opportunities for all of our residents. This includes advocating for meaningful and impactful solutions to our longstanding housing crisis while ensuring that our residents are able to earn living wages for their day's work in fair and safe working conditions.

I believe that by working together, we can build a brighter future for our state and our country. I am committed to being a strong and effective advocate for the people of California.
